Wine Cabinet - Operating noises
Issue
Wine Cabinet - Operating noises
Applies to
- Vintec
Solution
1. Depending on how full the cabinet is, the first day or two the unit is still getting the wine to temp – our units are specifically designed for gradual temperature change.
2. We have internal fans designed to circulate the air that kick in reasonably frequently
- Promotes even temps
- Reduces mould growth in the high humidity environment
Things to check
- Is the unit installed in direct sunlight or near a heat source?
- Are the door seals in good condition & is there anything stopping the door from closing fully?
Things to consider
- Is the unit in a new build that does not yet have many soft furnishings that would normally absorb noise from working appliances such as this
- Most fridges are installed in cavities that diffuse much of the compressor noise before it reaches the user – it sounds like this may not be the case here
- Is the cabinet getting opened frequently, hence working harder?
Tips re operating noises
- Underbench units have most working mechanisms at the bottom and back – install a square of soft material such as carpet under the unit and ideally behind the unit – this will reduce operating noise being reflected by hard surfaces such as tile or hardwood.
