Ice clumping, ice not dispensing, bad taste in ice, odd shaped ice
Issue
Ice clumping
Ice not dispensing
Ice has a bade taste
Odd, shaped ice
Applies to
- Refrigeration - with I & W Dispenser
Solution
Possible causes
When the ice in the ice bin is not used or removed on a regular basis, it can join with the forming of clumps of ice. These clumps of ice cause many nuisance issues; the ice can absorb the odours of the products in the fridge.
Resolution
To avoid these issues, we recommend:
Removing and emptying the ice bin monthly.
Ensure the filter is replaced every 6 months or as the water filter status in the user interface prompts you to replace the filter after 473 litres has flowed through the system.
Remove and empty ice bin
Important
When removing or replacing the ice bin, avoid rotating the auger in the ice bin.
If the auger is accidentally rotated, you must realign the auger by turning it in 45 degree turns (see below) until the ice bin fits into place with the drive mechanism. If the auger is not properly aligned when replacing the ice bin, the refrigerator will not dispense ice. The fresh food door also may not close properly causing warm air to leak into the fresh food compartment.
Replacing the Water Filter
There are different filter types for various models
Refer to the specific user manual for step-by-step removal/replacement instructions.
