Compressor motor seems to run too long
Issue
Compressor motor seems to run too long
Applies to
- Refrigeration French Door
- Refrigeration Quad Door
Solution
At normal room temperatures, expect your motor to run about 40% to 80% of
the time. Under warmer conditions, expect it to run even more often. The variable speed compressor and fan that at start up and on warm days runs at a high speed to provide additional cooling. When less cooling is required the compressor and fan will run at a lower speed.
- Ensure that the doors are not held open.
- Check that large amounts of warm food have not just been placed inside the appliance.
- Check the temperature settings, The factory default settings for the refrigerator are “3°C” and “-18°C” for the freezer.
- Measure the temperature with a thermometer in a glass of water placed inside the fridge. If the temperature is between +3 to +5°C, the fridge is working correctly.
- Please note that cheaper thermometers may show variations of ±1–2°C or more
- Check if Quik Freeze, Quick Chill or Drinks Chill is activated
Note that the appliance will run more than normal just after you install it or when adjusting to temperature setting changes.
Inverter technology senses temperature changes and adjusts the compressor speed to optimise energy consumption, while ensuring a consistent storage temperature and loser noise levels.
