Soft Close Lid Troubleshooting

Applies to
- Top Load Washing Machine
Solution
Understanding Soft-Close:
Soft-close hinges or dampers are designed to slow down the final movement of the lid, preventing it from slamming shut abruptly.
Proper Closing Technique:
Instead of letting go of the lid, use a gentle pushing motion to guide it closed. This allows the soft-close mechanism to engage fully and minimize any impact.
Avoiding Excessive Force:
While soft-close mechanisms offer some protection, forcing the lid down with excessive force can still put stress on the hinges and potentially cause them to fail prematurely.
Levelling the Washer:
Ensure the washing machine is properly levelled on the floor, as a wobbly machine can also affect the lid's closing action and potentially lead to slamming.
Check for Obstructions:
Make sure there are no items on top of the washer that could prevent the lid from closing smoothly.
Note: If lid is damaged or in abnormal position DO NOT OPERATE while in this condition. Contact Service a provider.
