Error Code EF0 – Possible causes

Foam warning

- Excessive detergent dosing

- Drain hose kinked or clogged

- Load too unbalanced

Detergents

You must use a ‘low sudsing’ detergent designed for front load washing machines or high efficiency top loaders, such as Cold Power for Front Loaders and High Efficiency Top Loaders or detergents labelled “Matic”.

Don’t use soap-based products in your washing machine.

Don’t use too much detergent. This can result in excessive suds that can cause low spin speeds, poor rinsing and overloading the motor during spin stages of the wash program.

Quantity of detergent to be used

The type and quantity of detergent will depend on the type of fabric, load size, degree of soiling and hardness of the water used.

Follow the product manufacturers’ instructions on quantities to use.

Too much washing powder causes: excessive sudsing, reduced washing effect, inadequate rinsing.

Use less detergent if: you are washing a small load, the laundry is lightly soiled, and large amounts of foam form during washing.

Resolution

  • Turn the machine off and leave for some time to allow the motor to cool.
  • Remove the laundry from the machine.
  • Select the Machine Clean cycle. Suggest checking after the initial filling to see how much accumulated soap suds can been seen in the water, if excessive then you may need to run 2 consecutive machine clean cycles to ensure all excess detergents are rinsed away.

Load too unbalanced

Machine has washed load but will complete the spin cycle.

Resolution

  • Open the lid, redistribute the load evenly, close lid and press start/pause.

Drain Hose kinked or clogged

Resolution

  • Make sure the drain hose is not kinked and is positioned correctly.

It is important that the top of the drain hose is above the joint between the washing machine cabinet and the top panel

A drain, either in the trough or as an extended floor drain at least 900mm high and 32mm diameter which can take a flow of 24 litres per minute of water and is less than 300mm from the side of the machine.

Position the drain hose to empty the water to a trough down through a bypass or down to an extended floor drain.
