Condensation on Rangehood surfaces
Issue
Condensation on Rangehood surfaces
Applies to
- Rangehood
Solution
In some cases, customers using induction cooktops may experience condensation forming on the surfaces of the rangehood.
Conditions that contribute to the formation of condensation
Installation height of rangehood above the cooktop.
- It is recommended that the unit be positioned at a minimum of 600mm for an electric cooktop and no further from the cooktop than 800mm. The unit becomes less effective as the distance from the cooking surface to the rangehood increases.
Incorrect flue diameter performance will reduce the airflow of the rangehood
- Use 150mm round exhaust ducting for best
When using semi-rigid duct
- Always install duct with the wire helix pulled taut to minimize pressure loss.
Flue length too long,
- Try to keep exhaust duct short and straight.
Too many bends in flue,
- Keep bends in the exhaust flue duct to a minimum
Room temperature and humidity
Size and type of cookware being used
How the induction cooktop is used
Some methods to reduce condensation
Before you start cooking, switch on the rangehood at minimum speed, to control moisture and remove cooking odour.
- Use the right feed according to the type of cooking
- Speed 1: light frying/boiling
- Speed 2: frying/wok cooking/heavy boiling
- Speed 3: Grilling, intensive frying and wok cooking
- Increase the rangehood speed only when the amount of vapor makes it necessary; (increase fan speed as more steam is generated).
- Use boost speed only when it is necessary.
2. Use pot lid when boiling to control moisture.
3. If the cooking zones allow use the smallest pot practicable for cooking.
4. Keep rangehood filters clean to optimize grease and odour efficiency.
